*it's all about - house"

I got good news from my hubby this morning ~ our loan to buy our first new house already been approved! We had been waiting for this for quite sometimes. At last, we have our own house.

It all started during last school holiday. I was waiting for my due which was 15 Dec (and I labored on the 14 Dec). Me and my hubby at first was staying at his parents house. Since I asked him that I want to stay at my parents' house after my labor. The planned work purrrrfectly at first. Then after for a while, we keep on moving back and forth from both of our parents' house. It's quite... annoying, depressing, devastated.. what ever you can call it. I became quite exhausted from the chore (if you can call it as a chore).

Which is why it lead us to a decision. We must have our own house.. Our own house where we don't need to keep on moving about. A place where we can keep our cloths and our things. NOT a small room which you can only stay for a few days and go back to another small room with your things, every where around you with no place to put!

It's not that I don't like staying with my parents, or his parents' house, it just that - it is too much of work! Even now, I still can't really sure how many pants I have! Or even where is my blue shirt, or socks?! I don't know whether it's here in Sri Aman (I work here, so practically I have my own house or rather rent, here), Siol Kandis (my parents house) or Malihah (my hubby's parents house)? Too many questions it gives me headache.

So, 40 days after labor (after 'pantang', as our Malay called it) I kinda persuade my hubby to start our hunting for house! Since my hubby also agreed with me about our problems, he also really do want a house. So we went to so many new develops places in town (Kuching, that is).

Actually we didn't go to sooo many places but only 5. We went to Kampung Serambi, Kuching Family Park, Taman Genesis, a place some where in Stutong and Green Acres. At first, we were very interested with a house at Kampung Serambi. Very nice and modern Double Story Intermediate house. We even nearly pay for the deposit. But, my parents was kinda against it (since the only one available is only the Show house).

We went to a place some where in Stutong (but we can only see clear field). I can't recall the name of the area but the construction still not started yet, so we canceled our plan to buy a house in that area.

Then we went to Kuching Family Park (KFP). At first we were quite disappointed when we see the living room of the house. It was very small.. I really mean.. really very small. The area can only be fit with one small sofa and a tv cabinet. However other rooms are quite average in size. But when we saw the backyard area, I was like... wooww.... That's a very big backyard. The house is actually 9 points. It just that the living room is small. After quite sometimes in the house, me and my hubby agreed that the house is acceptable.

The price is quite reasonable for us - RM 235k (since it was located in Petra Jaya were the house pricing is high). It's a Semi-D Single Story house with 9 points area! Of course it's worth it! Just that the living room needs a little extension. And probably need a little renovation here and there. So we agreed that we want to buy that house. We went back with high hope in our heart. Now, all we need is the deposit money, which is RM1k only.

So, the next few days we tried to convince my parents and his, that we want to buy that house. All we need is their blessing, of course. In the end, my parents agreed. So is his parents. At that time, I know in their heart, they wish that me and my hubby will stay with either one of them. I'm quite thankful to God that they actually give their blessing for us to buy the house.

Later on the same week, my husband said to me that one of his friend also know this one area - Taman Genesis also have Semi-D Single Story house for sale with the price RM150k++? I was like, is it true that there are still houses with THAT price? So me and my hubby agreed to check it out!

We went there with his friend. We saw the house, but it's already sold out. About the price? It's not RM150k++ but actually around RM 2xxk (which I don't know the real price). The house which is RM150k is actually a low cost house, which we are not entitle for (based on our pay).

Since we were around that area, I know there is a new house development in front on Taman Genesis - Green Acres. I tried to persuade my hubby to see the house like forever but he never want to see the house. First, the house is Double-Story (he prefer single story house). Second, the house looks.... expensive. So, I tried again (for one last time) to make my hubby see the house with me. It's not that I want to buy it, I said to him. I just want to see how's the design (well that's my excuse anyway).

He agreed (with heavy heart, I think). We went to see the Semi-D Double Story house and it is HUGE! I'm impressed! Of course I am, the house was practically 5 times bigger that the house that we want to buy! However, there are two things that I don't like about the house. One, the master bedroom is facing at the backyard (so the balcony belongs to the other rooms, which I want that view from the balcony). Two, the stair was tooooo long. Have you been to a long stair way at any shop house? It's like that, which I don't like.

Then we went to the Double Story Intermediate house Show house. That is what I call a house (of course except from the house at Kampung Serambi). It is as big as the first house that we want to buy. I went to every bedroom. I really really love the house. It's everything that I want. But I know that my hubby won't like it. To my surprise, he did like the house. So he asked for the price from the agent, Mr. Jeffrey.

"RM255k", he said. Then my hubby looked at me, and I know at that time, he was interested with the house.

There were 40 units available at that time. All the corner units already sold out. There are 100+ units, and we have to hurry! The deposit is RM3k, which we don't have.

After discussion between us, we agreed once again that buying house in Green Acres is far more worth it then buying house in KFP. One, we don't have to do any extension or renovation. Second, we have bigger house. Third, it's closer to my hubby's work place.

Of course the house is located quite far from town (not like the house at KFP), but the house fits with our needs at this time. We don't have to spend more money on petrol because it's nearer the work place. It's quite far from town, so I have to think twice to go shopping (since I promised myself to watch out for my budget during shopping).

When my hubby told me the good news today, I'm so happy. I'm going to start to save more money so we can buy furnitures and other things for the new house which according to plan, will finish around Dec 2011, the end of this year..

Thank you, Allah

Lite head

I'm a bit tired today. In fact this whole week, I'm exhausted! Yes, I just got back from my long long maternity leaves (which I really am thankful because it had been a very peaceful 3 whole months), but I still am tired. Could it be because of the labor or taking care of Adela? Well, most probably because of her, my beautiful nearly 4 months old little baby Adela....

This week, nothing much happened. Me and my colleagues when to one of the primary school in Sri Aman area, to watch Story telling Competition in English and Malay. Thank goodness that our school didn't sent any participant. Well, actually we do have 2 participants who cannot come (intentionally or unintentionally).

Last Friday, before the competitions, we gathered the pupils and give short 'taklimat' of a sort.. We told them to ask their parents to sent them to Pangkalan Tokong (by bot, since they lives quite far from the city). Don't know where the h*** is the problem, 3 of them (out of 6 pupils) can't make it! We were standing there for quite a while but only 3 pupils show themselves. The only problem was, the 3 pupils are not the participant!

So, we went to the school as planned. As I said, thank goodness we don't have any participant. The other pupils from other schools are goooooddd.... I mean, really GOOD! Anyway, we have our fun there. Even the 3 pupils who came with us have a blast time!

Around 1pm we went back to Sri Aman. And lives goes back as normal routine.

But still, I'm tired. When can I get enough sleep? Well, maybe for the next 30 years, after Adela grows up and become a person of her own.....
